Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who recently recovered from the novel disease coronavirus, has claimed that the Indian cricketers would ask for forgiveness after losing to the Green side on numerous occasions during his playing days.

During an online YouTube show ‘CricCast’, Afridi raised his statement which will take Indian fans down a peg.

“I have always enjoyed India. We’ve beaten them decently, really decently. I believe we’ve beaten them so much that they used to ask us for forgiveness after the match,” Afridi said.

“I have enjoyed a lot playing against India and Australia, you have more pressure. They are good teams, big teams. Going and performing in their conditions is the big thing,” he added.

The 40-year old also recalled his most memorable innings of 141 against the arch-rival India at their home turf in Chennai in 1999.

“My most memorable inning was the 141 against India, that too in India. I was not going on that trip; they were not taking me. Wasim bhai and the chief selector that time supported me a lot. It was a very difficult tour and that inning was very important,” he said.

Afridi has represented Pakistan between 1998 and 2018, featuring in 27 Tests, 398 One-day Internationals (ODIs) and 99 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
