Former Indian opening batsman Aakash Chopra has got millions of followers on social media who wait for his thought-provoking and spicy cricket videos. Besides Chopra’s critical analysis, he also produces videos regarding the best ODI, Test and T20 XIs from different decades.

Chopra recently compared the players of the PSL XI and IPL XI that were announced after the conclusion of the tournament.

Mumbai Indians won their fifth IPL title under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma whereas Karachi Kings crossed the line in the final against Lahore Qalandars taking their first title home.

PSL 2020 XI: Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Alex Hales, Mohammad Hafeez, Ben Dunk (wk), Imad Wasim (c), David Wiese, Imran Tahir, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, Shaheen Afridi

IPL 2020 XI: KL Rahul (c/wk), Shikhar Dhawan, Suryakumar Yadav, AB de Villiers, Ishan Kishan, Rahul Tewatia, Jofra Archer, Rashid Khan, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Kagiso Rabada.

Chopra agreed with Babar Azam and KL Rahul opening the innings but picked Shikhar Dhawan instead of Fakhar Zaman.

“When it comes to openers, I think it is difficult to separate Rahul and Babar as they played extremely well during the tournament. While Dhawan is clearly ahead of Fakhar,” said Chopra while comparing the openers.

The former batsman turned commentator picked AB de Villiers ahead of the professor Mohammad Hafeez while mentioning a tie between Ishan Kishan and Ben Dunk.

“Hales and Yadav were equally good. There is no comparison between Hafeez and De Villiers despite the professor’s great run of form. Dunk and Kishan is also fifty-fifty and maybe slightly tilted towards Dunk. Tewatia and Imad is also a close call,” the former right-hander said while comparing the middle-order.

Chopra was pretty clear about the bowling department as he picked Rashid Khan, Yuzvendra Chahal and Jasprit Bumrah over Imran Tahir, Mohammad Hasnain and Haris Rauf. He was impressed with Shaheen’s performance but Kagiso Rabada edged past him because of experience.

“Between Archer and Wiese, I would 100 per cent go with Jofra. I have no doubt about Rashid Khan, Chahal and Bumrah over Imran Tahir, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Hasnain as well. Shaheen has been outstanding but we are talking about Kagiso Rabada who is clearly ahead of him,” Chopra said while comparing the bowling attack of the two sides.
